Las Positas College Visual Communications

The Las Positas College Visual Communications Advisory Board meeting was very interesting. We discussed the design classes, teaching techiques and walked through the new visual arts communication dept that was just built. In my opinion, Los Positas is offering "The BEST Visual Communications Program" in the U.S.! The dept is head by Fredda Cassidy and she is award winning acclaimed designer. Her out of the box ideas and cross training instruction offers a top notch program. If you are interested in getting a visual arts certification be sure to check them out.
Sebastian Zurek, an instructor at Dublin High School is also on the board. His passion, creativity and zest for teaching in visual communications is amazing! He offers a new dynamic way of instructing that leads his R.O.P. students to SUCCESS! BRAVO - Sebastain! Click here to see his website. Meso Laser Clinic just won the Silver Web Award from the World Wide Web Association. They said "Mesotherapy Laser Clinic won the award for it's outstanding web site design, interesting content and is user friendly with easy navigation. The award winning web site is also error free from broken links and error messages of any kind an perfect coding for search engine optimiztion. This site is well organized and uses some advanced features, such as flash or java scripting, original design and graphics, as well as provides quality information for its visitors" :) YIPPIE!!
I loved the website design, but the marketing group that she is using is totally messing up with the design, they removed the image rotation and more - OMG!

Just a word for those who are looking for a PR firm or marketing group. Please review their online portfolio, their website, check to see if they are W3C compliant, testimonials and/or references to make sure you aren't wooed by a FAST TALKING marketing person that only wants your money! I can refer a fabulous PR person if you need one.

Yippie!!! I just got my pre-order for my Adobe Creative Suite 3, Design Premium. This program includes: Adobe InDesign CS3, Adobe Photoshop CS3, Adobe Illustrator CS3, Adobe Flash CS3, Dreamweaver CS3, Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional, Adobe Bridge CS3, Version Cue CS3, Central CS3, Adobe Stock Photos, Adobe Video Workshop training. These are ALL upgrades for me, as you know I have been using photoshop and illustrator since the 4.0 days, hand coding HTML since 3.0 - so Dreamweaver is BONUS and instructing Dreamweaver since 2.0 days. hee hee . . . I love upgrades! So, I'm offering tutoring to anyone who needs instruction or assistance with Adobe CS3.

Joan has received an invitation to join the Las Positas College Visual Communications Advisory Board, Livermore, CA. The board comprises of graphic designers and web designers in the Tri-Valley area. The invitation said, "Because of your business experience, I believe you will make a valuable contribution. I hope you acccept this invitation to partner with us." Well, without hesitation, I accepted. I will meet the dean and head of faculty, April 4, at Las Positas College to share ideas about the Visual Communications program and the Design Shop. More about this later.
