To begin the process, we review your information from our online quote request. We then email you an initial estimate. This will be followed by a telephone consultation. The preliminary consultation is an exchange of information in which we answer any questions you may have to help you decide if you want to use our services. This phone call is free and without any obligation.
If, after the initial estimate and consultation, you decide to go forward, Lonzo Designs will spend more time gathering information from you by email, or by phone. Once we have gathered sufficient information from you, we will begin the Lonzo Designs Web Design Process (LDWDP) in which a detailed written set of specifications for your web site with a scope of services is prepared, and an estimated total cost and a time line to complete your project is provided.
Lonzo Designs will submit to you, via email, a formal bid/proposal for your review. After you accept the bid, agree to the LDWDP and terms and conditions, and all deposits or other fees have been paid, we will begin your project. We accept payment in the following forms: Company check, cashier's check, or U.S. money order. Payments are accepted in US currency only. See the Terms and Conditions document for more information regarding payment terms.
As outlined in the LDWDP, you are required to provide text and graphic content before most work can begin on the web project. Please note: Web Site projects do require work on your part.
Next, we prepare 2-3 mock-ups of the Main Page (Home). The mock-ups are based on the needs and preferences identified and outlined in the LDWDP. They are then uploaded to a private location on our server where you can view them "live". You will be able to watch the design process unfold, and view the navigation scheme, layout and overall look of your site as it develops. As we are developing, we will mix and match different design elements to create another prototype if necessary. There will be checkpoints along the way where each section will be finalized and approved by you. If additional design time is needed for extra services not originally outlined in the LDWDP, you will be billed separately for those services.
Layout Approval is considered the halfway point of the project. At this time, Lonzo Designs will invoice you for the second installment of 50% of the initial. Submitting all payments to this point acknowledges that you accept all work and that no other redesigning is necessary.
This step is where you gather all of the materials needed for your website, including:
You will now be working with an assigned LDPP project manager, who will take you through the rest of the process. If you do not have finalized materials such as text, graphics or marketing materials, those services may be outsourced through us to help you. Services available include: Web content writing, Web image research and photography. These services do not fall within the scope of the LDWDP, and are therefore billed separately. Please contact your project manager for details.
The Internet is dramatically changing the way that American government serves the public. Many people with disabilities use “assistive technology” to enable them to use computers and access the Internet. Blind people who cannot see computer monitors may use screen readers – devices that speak the text that would normally appear on a monitor. People who have difficulty using a computer mouse can use voice recognition software to control their computers with verbal commands. People with other types of disabilities may use still other kinds of assistive technology. New and innovative assistive technologies are being introduced every day. Most websites only offer very mininal accessibilty. If your web projects has requirements for accessibilty for ADA, please let us know ahead of time so we can discuss the needs, requirements and cost associated with that.
In order for this phase to begin, you must have supplied all finalized materials. It is especially important to have provided the required text (We ask that you double check your text for any spelling and grammatical mistakes or inconsistencies, before it is provided to avoid delays down the road).
The approved page design is now used as a template for all other pages of the site. Text and graphic content is "plugged in" and adjusted for a perfect layout.
After the web site has been put together and you have approved it, Lonzo Designs will outsource the project to highly qualified coders and/or programmers that will code out the site for cross browser compatibility. See the terms and conditions for further details regarding Cross-Browser compatibility.
The site is then thoroughly tested on the actual server. At this time, you will have another chance to review it for any minor changes or corrections. See the terms and conditions for Acceptance Testing procedures.
If a domain name needs to be redirected to a new web hosting company, then the process is usually done at this time. You will have to follow the instructions set out by your domain provider to change the "DNS entry". This can take up to 72 hours.
While the site is being transferred, Lonzo Designs will optimize the site for search engines and prepares the site to be cross browser friendly in the top 3 search engines.
The remaining balance is due and payable prior to the official launch of your web site. The web site is then uploaded to your server. It is considered "live" at that point. We allow five business days after the launch for you to review the site and test its functionality. Any errors or functionality problems brought to our attention that are deemed our responsibility will be fixed at no additional cost. This is the end of contract for web design services.
We would be happy to handle your online marketing efforts and the maintenance of your site. Contact Lonzo Designs today to discuss these opportunities.
